Body equipment
Car body all-metal, open, with soft fabric or rigid top and plumage.

In a body floor there are hatches for access to the transmission, the transfer case, the parking brake mechanism, to a stopper of a jellied opening of the stavny brake cylinder, to sensors and reception tubes of the fuel tanks. The arrangement of hatches in a body floor is shown in fig. 8.1.

In the central racks of a body for placement of jellied mouths of the fuel tanks there are hatches with the opening covers (fig. 8.2). On the car UAZ-3153 of a cover of hatches are locked by a key.
In a back part of a body floor there are boxes for placement of a tank for oil, a cable etc.

 The frame of 3 (fig. 8.3) of glass of a wind window is established on a body on loops and can be cast away on a cowl (at the removed awning) and is fixed on it by belts 2.

Note
The leaning-back frame and removable framework of an awning are provided for reduction of dimensional height of the car when transporting. It is forbidden to operate the car with the cast-away frame of a windshield and with the removed framework of an awning.

 The back board is established on a body on three loops. In a closed position the board is locked on the left side by the turning hook, and with right nestles the rubber buffer of an arm of a spare wheel.
 Doors fasten to a body on loops bolts and can be removed for repair or replacement. Forward and back doors of one sidewall of a body are interchanged.
Since 1996 locks and handles of doors of safe type are put. Locks of forward doors are locked by a key.

 Screen wiper and washer of a windshield. The electric screen wiper has two brushes. Its engine with a reducer and the drive is located under the dashboard (till 1997 the screen wiper located on a windshield frame was established). Under the influence of springs of a brush nestle on glass. The washer of glass (fig. 8.4) is intended for acceleration of purification of glass of a wind window.
 Extensions of doors fasten to a door three bolts.
Extensions of doors have rotary and motionless glasses. The brake mechanism of rotary glasses has to provide rather easy turning of glass and not allow spontaneous closing of glass from a counter flow of air.

 Plumage of a body is executed by removable. On facing of a radiator two locks of a cowl, and in the middle of a forward part of the panel of a cowl – a safety lock of 7 (fig. 8.5) are established.
On the car UAZ-3153 and on a part of other models opening of locks of a cowl is carried out from a cabin by the lever located under the dashboard on the left side.

If necessary the cowl can be established in two provisions (fig. 8.6).

 Seats. Front seats (fig. 8.7) of the driver and passenger interchangeable, fasten to a body floor everyone three bolts and have three provisions for adjustment in the longitudinal direction. Backs of front seats have two provisions of adjustment of an inclination.
Do not establish a seat and a back at the same time in extreme back situation since at the same time folding of a back triple seat is at a loss.

Pillows and backs of a back triple seat (fig. 8.8) are unified with pillows and backs of front seats.
The back 1 is fixed not movably onboard a body by means of a lock. Backs can keep within on pillows (one, two or all three at the same time) and to be fixed by belts. In the put situation the seat can be cast away for increase in the area of a cargo compartment forward.

Behind a triple seat about both parties of boards two single seats are located (on the car UAZ-3153 — two double seats). The pillow of a seat can lean back on loops up. At the same time the pillow of a single seat is fastened to a back by one belt (fig. 8.9), double – two.
In the working provision of a pillow of seats are fixed in rubber nests.

On cars UAZ-31512 the possibility of installation of a sanitary stretcher and their holders (fig. 8.10) is provided. Before installation of a stretcher put the right front seat in average position. Cast away a seatback forward and fix on a front hand-rail by a belt.
Turn off bolts of the 5th arm 4 and establish it into position, as shown in fig. 8.8.
Lower the right back of a triple seat on a pillow and fix by a belt.

On a number of cars of family UAZ-31512 (including on all cars UAZ-3153) more comfortable seats with head restraints (fig. 8.11) are established. Front seats separate, not interchangeable, regulated in the longitudinal direction and on a back inclination. A back triple seat separate (2+1), developing forward for increase in the area of a cargo compartment.

The awning of the car fastens on a metal folding framework (fig. 8.12).
For removal of an awning it is necessary to make the following:
1. Unfasten an awning and remove it from brackets.
2. Turn out extreme screws of fastening of metal overlays of an awning on a frame of glass of a wind window and, having weakened other screws, remove metal slips.
3. Open doors and release an awning.
4. Remove an awning from screws of a frame of glass of a wind window and hooks of a forward arch of a framework. Remove an awning from a framework.
5. Wrap all screws on a frame of glass of a wind window, having fixed by them metal overlays of an awning.
6. Unfasten and take off coupling belts of a framework of an awning.
7. Remove spring struts of a framework of an awning.
8. Remove communications of arches of an awning.
9. Turn off bolts and remove arches of an awning and slopes.
10. Remove inclined racks of a framework of an awning.
You make laying of an awning as follows:
1. Put an awning, having wrapped in it inclined racks of a framework, spring struts and belts.
2. Enclose communications of arches in a special cover.

3. Fix awning arches in marching situation in a body on casings of back wheels and a floor of the car, as shown in fig. 8.13.
4. Put a cover with struts under a rug of a back floor.

5. Lay packages of an awning (fig. 8.14) under a back seat or, at the put provision of back seats, between backs of front seats.

Rigid roof
The rigid roof realized by the enterprise can be installed on cars UAZ-31512 instead of an awning. It is completely unified with the roof installed on the car UAZ-31514.
The following order of installation of a rigid roof on a body is recommended:
1. Remove an awning and a framework of an awning.

2. Cut down a chisel of a kerchief I and holders of II (fig. 8.15) in places of welding on a wind frame and paint over the damaged places.
3. Remove clamps of fastening of triple seats and cut off horizontal regiments. Paint over places of a cut.
4. Establish clamps of fastening of triple seats on two horizontal bolts.
5. Remove backs of folding seats.
6. Remove angular upholsteries of a roof.

7. Mark and drill openings of 10 mm on both sides of a body, as shown in fig. 8.16.
8. Mark and drill four openings of 6 mm on a back board of a body, establish and fix the directing thorns 4, as shown in fig. 8.16.
9. Paste laying 6 to a wind frame rubber glue, having combined openings in laying and a wind frame.
10. Paste laying 1 to a body. Puncture openings in laying on openings in a body.
11. Establish laying 7 on the right and left central racks of a roof.
12. Establish laying 8 and 9.
13. Pass the end of a wire via the dashboard parallel to a screen wiper wire, previously having cast away a wind frame, and attach to the plug of a thermal safety lock together with a wire of green color.
14. Establish a roof, having combined openings in a roof with openings in a wind frame and sidewalls of a body. Fix a roof by bolts, as shown in fig. 8.16. It is preferable to begin fastening with a forward part of a roof.
15. Connect the ends of wires (reinforced by a nest and the probe), going from the dashboard and from a roof among themselves.
16. Mark and drill on four openings 5 mm in racks of 2 and Z (fig. 8.16), having arranged them evenly on all height. Establish racks, as shown in the drawing, and on openings in them mark and drill openings of 4 mm in a wind frame. Fix racks with the help of the self-cutting screws 16. Welding of racks by arc welding with the subsequent cleaning and coloring of welded seams is allowed.
Place the wire going from a roof to the dashboard in a rack 3.
17. Establish angular upholsteries of a roof.
18. Fix backs of folding seats by bolts 12.
19. Establish a sealant in apertures of doors.
20. Establish seat belts.
21. On a front guard over the rechargeable battery beat out number of a body a font No. 10.
Periodically check fastening of a roof to a body and if necessary you make tightening of connections.

Fastening of a body
The body suspension bracket with plumage assembled on a frame of the car is executed on rubber pillows of double action.

Fastening of a body (fig. 8.17) with plumage to a frame of the car UAZ-3153 is carried out in 16 points, other cars of family UAZ-31512 – in 14 points. Besides, there are two reference points located on a frame cross-piece in a zone of a back body floor. For raising of a body and its installation on a frame special openings are provided in forward and back racks (are closed by rubber caps).
At installation of a body on a frame of the car you watch correctness of an arrangement of rubber pillows in openings of a frame and existence of expansion plugs.
Nuts of bolts of fastening of a body tighten to the full (against the stop pillow washers in the expansion plug) and fix by lock-nuts.

Consolidation of a body
Consolidation of doors is carried out by the spongy rubber sealants pasted to doors by glue
No. 88CA and in addition fixed metal brackets. Uplotniteli have to adjoin to a doorway at a closed position of doors. Check sealant prileganiye density to a body a strip of paper which at the closed door has to be pressed by a sealant. At restoration or replacement of a sealant you watch height of a sealant of rather external surface of a door. The distance from an external surface of a door to a uvula of a sealant has to be 20 mm.
For the best consolidation of the lower part of a door on the internal panel the additional rubber sealant which fastens a metal level is established.
Rubber a sealant of doors preserve against hit on them of gasoline or oil.
At removal or installation of a sealant of levers of the transfer case levers need to be pulled together.

Ventilation and heating of a body
Ventilation of a body is made via ventilating hatches of a front and rotary glasses of extensions of doors.
For more effective ventilation of a body in summertime it is possible to use the heater fan.
