Steering of the car consists of the steering worm roller mechanism with a steering wheel (fig. 5.1, 5.2) and the steering drive (fig. 5.3, 5.4).

On separate cars of family UAZ-31512 the steering screw mechanism - a ball nut sector without hydraulic booster (fig. 5.5) or with the hydraulic booster (fig. 5.6) is installed.

Maintenance of steering managements differs only in adjustment of steering mechanisms.
In due time tighten bolts of fastening of a case of the steering mechanism to a frame longeron, check fastening of fingers of steering drafts, a bipod and the lever of a rotary fist. Check a free wheeling of a steering wheel, adjust the steering mechanism, grease hinges of steering drafts and add oil in a case of the steering mechanism or in an oil tank (in case of the steering mechanism with the hydraulic booster), as directed tables of greasing.

At emergence of a gap in hinges of steering drafts wrap against the stop a cap of 1 (fig. 5.7), and then turn off it on 1/2 turns and in this situation to a zakernita.
Periodically check an inhaling of nuts of tips of steering drafts.
Do not allow emergence of gaps in conic connections of levers and fingers. For their elimination to a rasshplintuyta a nut also tighten it to the full. The untimely inhaling of the specified connections causes wear of conic openings in levers that will demand replacement of details.
At service of cars of family UAZ-31512 pay attention to a condition of fastening of bearings in steering hinge forks.
At emergence of a radial gap in the hinge (axial movement of a crosspiece in bearings) make an additional raskernovka of bearings in ears of forks. You make Raskernovka so that not to allow smyaty a bearing glass. In bearings of a crosspiece Litol-24 lubricant at assembly at the plant is put and in operation it is not required to add it.
Service of system of the power steering consists in check of a tension of a belt of the drive of the pump, check of tightness of hoses and their connections, check of lack of leaks of sealants of the pump and steering mechanism, check of level and replacement of oil in an oil tank.

Check of a free wheeling of a steering wheel
The condition of the steering mechanism is considered normal and not demanding adjustment if the free wheeling of a steering wheel in provision of the movement on a straight line does not exceed 10 degrees that corresponds to 40 mm at measurement on a rim of a steering wheel.
In the presence of the power steering check a free wheeling of a steering wheel during the operation of the engine in the idling mode, shaking a steering wheel in that and other party prior to turn of forward wheels.
In case of the steering mechanism without hydraulic booster check a free wheeling with application of effort of 7,5 N (0,75 kgfs) on a rim of a steering wheel in that and other party.
If a free wheeling more specified, then before than to start adjustment of the steering mechanism, check fastening of the steering mechanism, a condition of hinges of steering drafts, a condition of the hinge of a steering column, an inhaling of bolts of fastening of forks of hinges and lack of a side play in shlitsevy connection of the driveshaft, an inhaling of nuts of fastening of a bipod and the lever, fastening of a steering wheel.

Tension of a belt of the drive of the pump of the hydraulic booster
At a normal tension of a belt its deflection in the middle between pulleys of a bent shaft and the pump, when pressing a belt with a force of 39 N (4 kgfs), has to make 12–17 mm.
If necessary carry out a tension of a belt movement of the pump on an arm of its fastening to the engine. For this purpose weaken bolts of fastening of the pump to an arm, move the pump with the tension screw to a normal tension of a belt and tighten bolts of fastening of the pump. Replace a belt in case of its damage or excessive stretching.

Check of level and change of oil of the hydraulic booster
When checking level of oil in an oil tank forward wheels have to be established directly. Add oil to the level of a grid of the jellied filter of an oil tank or above it no more than on 5 mm. Oil has to be previously filtered via the filter with a filtration subtlety no more than 40 microns.
As working liquid all-weather oil of brand "P" is applied. The volume of the filled-in oil of 1,1 l.
Through each 100 000 km of a run or 2 years of operation replace oil and the filter in an oil tank. You make change of oil also at repair or adjustment of the steering mechanism.
You make gas station of system in the following order:
1. Uncover an oil tank, fill in oil before its emergence over the filtering grid (no more than on 5 mm).
2. Without starting the engine, turn a steering wheel or an entrance shaft of the mechanism from an emphasis against the stop before the termination of an exit of vials of air from oil in a tank. Add oil in a tank.
When pumping it is necessary to disconnect draft of a bipod from a bipod or to hang out forward wheels.
3. Start the engine, at the same time adding oil in a tank.

Note
In case of plentiful foaming of oil in a tank that demonstrates hit of air in system, kill the engine and let's oil be defended not less than 20 min. (to an exit of vials of air from oil). Examine places of accession of hoses to units of system of the hydraulic booster and if necessary eliminate leakage.

4. Let's the engine work 15 - 20 sec. and pump over system of the hydraulic booster for removal residual
air from the steering mechanism turn of a steering wheel from an emphasis to
emphasis, without detaining in extreme provisions, on three times in each party.
5. If necessary add oil in a tank.
6. Close a tank a cover and tighten a cover nut by effort of a hand.
7. Attach draft of a bipod, tighten also to a zashplintuyta a nut of a spherical finger.

Service of account and safety valves of the pump
At pollution of account and safety valves wash out them. For this purpose:
1. Unscrew the stopper cap located over an exhaust outlet of the pump.
2. Take out a spring and a zolotnik of the account valve, and establish a stopper cap into place that will prevent an oil effluence.
3. Wash out a zolotnik and the safety valve which is installed in a zolotnik.
4. You make assembly upside-down.

Adjustment of the steering worm roller mechanism
Adjustment of the steering mechanism needs to be made for elimination of gaps which appear between a worm and a roller.

Begin adjustment with check of an axial gap in bearings of a worm. For this purpose clasp with a palm a column so that the thumb touched an end face of a nave of a steering wheel and turn a steering wheel in both parties on some corner (fig. 5.8). At wear of bearings of a worm the finger will feel axial movement of a nave of a steering wheel concerning a column pipe. If axial movement of a worm is absent, then regulate only gearing of a roller with a worm.

you make by means of laying 13 (see fig. 5.1), established between a case and the lower cover of a case of the steering mechanism, in the following order:
1. Remove the steering mechanism from the car.
2. Merge oil from a case.
3. Fix the steering mechanism in a vice.
4. Turn off a nut 33 and remove a lock washer 34 from the adjusting screw 32.
5. Turn off bolts of fastening of a side cover of the 37th case.
6. Easily striking with a copper or aluminum drift an end face of a shaft of the 17th bipod, take out a bipod shaft together with a roller and a cover and carefully remove laying 38.
7. Turn off bolts of fastening of the lower cover of the 12th case and uncover.
8. Carefully separate and remove thin paper laying 13.
9. Establish the lower cover into place, tighten bolts and check axial movement of a worm.
10. If axial movement remained, again remove the lower cover, remove thick laying, and on its place establish earlier removed thin. Do not remove more than one laying.

11. Rotation of a worm 11 finally check an inhaling of bearings 8 and 14. At the correct inhaling of roller bearings of a worm the effort necessary for turn of a steering wheel has to be 2,2–4,5 N (0,22–0,45 kgfs) (without the established bipod shaft). You make check of an inhaling of bearings by means of a dynamometer (fig. 5.9).
 * you carry out adjustment of gearing of a roller with a worm of cars of family UAZ-31512 in the following order:

* Adjustment on cars of family UAZ-3741 is made similarly

1. Establish a steering wheel in the situation corresponding to the movement of the car on a straight line.
2. Disconnect steering draft from a bipod.
3. Turn off a nut 33 (see fig. 5.1) and remove a lock washer 34 from the adjusting screw 32.
4. Turning the adjusting screw 32 clockwise, eliminate a gap in gearing.
5. Put on a lock washer. If the opening in a washer does not coincide with a pin turn the adjusting screw so that the opening in a washer coincided with a pin.
6. Screw a nut 33 on the adjusting screw and, shaking a hand a steering bipod, check lack of a gap in gearing.
7. Check the effort necessary for a provorachivaniye of a steering wheel. The steering wheel has to be turned freely from the average situation corresponding to the movement on a straight line at the effort of 9-16 N (0,9–1,6 kgfs) made for a steering wheel.
In the absence of the special device for check of the effort necessary for a provorachivaniye of a steering wheel, use a dynamometer.

Adjustment of the steering screw mechanism - a ball nut sector
For adjustment of the steering mechanism remove it together with a bipod from the car. Fix the steering mechanism by the shlitsevy end of the screw 14 (see fig. 5.5) up, the axis of the screw 14 has to reach vertical position.
By means of a dynamometer measure the screw 14 provorachivaniye moment on average and in extreme provisions of a shaft sector 2. The average provision of a shaft sector is turn of the screw on 2,5 turns from any extreme. In the extreme provision of a shaft sector it is necessary turn of the screw on 1/2 turns for measurement of the moment of a provorachivaniye of the screw a shaft sector to take away from an emphasis in extreme situation and to measure moment size rotation of the screw on one turn.
At the correct inhaling of bearings and lack of a gap in gearing of a nut lath and shaft sector the shaft provorachivaniye moment on average the provision of a shaft sector has to be 1,6–2,5 N · m (0,16–0,25 kgfs · l), in the extreme provision of a shaft sector the moment has to decrease to 0,8–1,2 N · m (0,08–0,12 kgfs · м).
If the screw provorachivaniye moment in extreme provisions is less than specified, it is necessary to make adjustment of an inhaling of bearings 11 of the screw.
 You make adjustment of an inhaling of bearings of the screw in the following sequence:
1. Install the steering mechanism by the lower cover 16 (see fig. 5.5) up and enshrine in such provision.
2. Turn off bolts of fastening of a cover and uncover 16.
3. Remove one of thin laying 13 (thickness of 0,05 mm).
4. Establish a cover into place, tighten bolts, turn the steering mechanism the shlitsevy end of the screw 14 up and again measure the screw provorachivaniye moment in extreme provisions.
5. If the required size of the moment is not reached, in the same sequence remove laying 0,1 mm or 0,15 mm thick, and establish earlier removed laying into place.
Not less than three laying 0,05 mm thick are installed in the steering mechanism, and also laying 0,1 mm, 0,15 mm and 0,5 mm thick which number is defined by requirements of assembly can be established. It is not recommended to remove more than one laying 0,05 mm thick in the presence of laying of bigger thickness.
6. Finally check the screw provorachivaniye moment in extreme provisions of a shaft sector.
If when checking the moment of a provorachivaniye of the screw it turns out that the moment in extreme provisions of a shaft sector corresponds to the recommended size, and the moment on average the provision of a shaft sector below recommended, it is necessary to make adjustment of gearing of a nut lath 3 and in bulk sector 2. The gap, notable can be an additional sign of need of adjustment of gearing when rocking a shaft sector for a bipod on average the provision of a shaft sector.
 You make adjustment of gearing in the following sequence:
1. If on the mechanism of a ring 28 (see fig. 5.5) support of a shaft sector are stopped by a fillet kerneniye in a case opening, remove caps of 33 openings and correct a fillet with the help a small beard and the hammer, without applying excessively strong blows. If the specified rings are stopped by screws, weaken them.
2. Remove protective covers 20 and 25. When latching rings a kerneniye it is necessary to remove also a bipod.
3. Eliminate a gap in gearing by turn of rings of 28 support of a shaft sector counterclockwise if to take a detached view shliyets of a shaft sector. At the same time rings of support of a shaft sector have to turn on an identical corner.
4. Check the screw provorachivaniye moment on average the provision of a shaft sector.
5. At achievement of the moment of a provorachivaniye of the screw on average the provision of the recommended size stop rings of support of a shaft sector a fillet kerneniye in openings of a case or an inhaling of lock screws and lock-nuts.
6. Establish protective covers 20 and 25, caps 33, a bipod. Previously wrap a nut of fastening of a bipod. You make a final inhaling of a nut of a bipod after installation of the steering mechanism on the car and accessions of draft of a bipod to a bipod.

Adjustment of the steering mechanism with the hydraulic booster
For performance of adjustment of the steering mechanism it needs to be removed from the car. For this purpose:
1. Disconnect delivery and drain hoses from the steering mechanism and fix hoses so that to prevent a full effluence of oil from a hydraulic system.
2. Turn off a nut and take out maple the screw from a hinge fork, remove a hinge fork from the mechanism.
3. Disconnect draft of a bipod from a bipod.
4. Turn off bolts of fastening and remove the steering mechanism.
 Carry out adjustment of the steering mechanism in the following sequence:
1. Fix the steering mechanism in a vice so that delivery and drain openings were below. Turning manually an entrance shaft of the steering mechanism, merge oil from the mechanism.
2. Slightly pressing a hand an entrance shaft along its axis, shake a bipod. If at the same time axial movement of an entrance shaft is felt, execute adjustment of a tightness of bearings of the screw. For this purpose:
– with the help a small beard and the hammer carefully, without applying excessively strong blows, correct a fillet of a glass 3 (see fig. 5.6), the case fixed in grooves of a wall 9;
– turning a glass 3 clockwise, eliminate a side play;
– check the moment of a provorachivaniye of an entrance shaft which has to be no more than 3 N · m (· м). The moment to measure 0,3 kgfs throughout no more than one turn of an entrance shaft from any extreme situation;
– you zakernit edge of a glass in grooves of a wall of a case 3. If axial movement of a rotor is not felt or is eliminated, and on average the provision of a shaft of a bipod when rocking for a bipod the gap is felt, execute adjustment of gear gearing. For this purpose:
– turn off a nut 24 and remove a bipod 23;
– remove top 31 and lower the 25th protective covers;
– remove lock rings 26 and adjusting washers 27;
– straighten adjusting washers;
– turning at the same time bipod shaft support 28 counterclockwise (if to take a detached view the shlitsevy end of a shaft of a bipod), eliminate a gap in gearing. You make adjustment in the provision of a shaft of a bipod corresponding to average position of the gear sector;
– check the bipod shaft provorachivaniye moment which has to бьть within 35–45 N · to m (3,5–4,5 kgfs · l) upon transition of a shaft of a bipod through average situation.
If after adjustment of a tightness of bearings and a gap in gear gearing the side play does not manage to be eliminated, the side play means it is caused by wear of the shariko-screw gear. In this case the steering mechanism is subject to repair;
– establish adjusting washers, bend one of moustaches in both adjusting washers in a groove of a support of a shaft of a bipod and establish lock rings.
8. Install the steering mechanism on the car, establish a bipod and wrap by hand a bipod nut.
9. Attach a driveshaft fork, delivery and drain hoses, without allowing their twisting and sharp excesses, fill in oil in a hydraulic system (see above).
10. Attach draft of a bipod, tighten also to a zashplintuyta a nut of a spherical finger, tighten a bipod nut.

Repair
At repair of steering use these tab. 5.1.
You make removal and dismantling of cross steering draft in the following order:
1. Rasshplintuyte of a nut of fastening of fingers of a steering trapeze.
2. Turn off nuts and a vypressuyta adaptation fingers from levers.
3. Take off from fingers 10 (see fig. 5.7) spring caps 7, rubber protective rings 6 and spherical washers 4 and 5.

4. Fix draft in a vice, turn off lock nuts of 1 (fig. 5.10) and 3 and turn out tips 4 and the adjusting union 2.
5. Turn off a carving cap (fig. 5.7) of a tip and take out a spring 2, a heel 3, a finger 10 and a cracker 11.
 You make assembly of draft upside-down.
Replace a finger complete with a cracker. It is not recommended to replace only a finger as the sphere of a cracker wears out unevenly and when replacing one finger it is not possible to achieve good interface of spheres of a finger and a cracker.
Before assembly grease hinge details as directed of the table of greasing.
At installation of a carving cap wrap it against the stop, and then turn off on 1/2 turns and in this situation to a zakernita.
 Removal, dismantling and assembly of draft of a bipod is made similarly.

The steering mechanism without hydraulic booster
 You make removal and dismantling of a steering column of cars of family UAZ-31512 in the following order:
1. Remove the switch of indexes of turn.
2. Disconnect a signal wire.
3. Remove the button of a signal and contact details.

4. Turn off a nut of fastening of a steering wheel on 2–3 turns and, using a stripper (fig. 5.11), weaken fastening of a steering wheel on a cone of a steering shaft. Turn off a nut of fastening of a steering wheel and remove a steering wheel.
5. Turn off nuts and remove a step-ladder of fastening of a steering column and the rubber plug.
6. Turn off a nut and take the top coupling bolt of the hinge of a steering column.
7. Remove a steering column.
8. Turn out the screw 27 (see fig. 5.1) and take out plugs 26 and 28.
9. Remove the lower lock ring 20, a protective washer 21, a spring 22 and a razzhimny ring 23.
10. Take a steering shaft 31, a vypressuyta bearings. You make dismantling of a steering column only for replacement of worn-out bearings.
You make assembly and installation of a steering column upside-down.
 You make removal of the steering mechanism from cars of family UAZ-31512 without removal of a steering column in the following order:
1. Turn off a coupling bolt of the hinge of a steering column.

2. Turn off a nut of fastening of a bipod of the steering mechanism and remove a bipod (fig. 5.12) by means of a stripper.
3. Turn off bolts of fastening of a case of the steering mechanism to a frame longeron.
4. Remove the steering mechanism and merge oil.
 You make removal of the steering mechanism from cars of family UAZ-3741 in the following order:
1. Remove the switch of indexes of turn.
2. Disconnect a signal wire.
3. Remove the button of a signal and contact details.
4. Turn off a nut of fastening of a steering wheel on 2–3 turns and, using a stripper (see fig. 5.11), weaken fastening of a steering wheel on a cone of a steering shaft. Turn off a nut of fastening of a steering wheel and remove a steering wheel.
5. Turn off nuts and remove a step-ladder of fastening of a steering column and the rubber plug.
6. Disconnect draft of a bipod from a bipod.
7. Turn off bolts of fastening of a case of the steering mechanism.
8. Remove the steering mechanism together with a steering column.

On cars with a steering column with the cardan hinge (see fig. 5.2, a) removal of the steering mechanism is possible without removal of a steering column (similar to removal of the steering mechanism of cars of family UAZ-31512).
 You make dismantling of the steering worm roller mechanism in the following order:
1. Disconnect the cardan hinge from a shaft of a worm (on cars of family UAZ-31512).
2. Turn off a nut and remove a lock washer from the adjusting screw.
3. Turn off bolts of fastening of a side cover of a case.
4. Easy blows of a copper or aluminum drift to an end face of a shaft of a bipod take out a bipod shaft together with a roller and a cover and carefully remove laying.
5. Vvertyvany of the adjusting screw in a side cover of a case remove a side cover and the adjusting screw from a bipod shaft.
6. Turn off bolts of fastening of the lower cover of a case and uncover together with laying, an external ring of the lower bearing and a separator with rollers.
7. Take out from a case a shaft with a worm assembled and a separator with rollers of the top bearing.
Press off an external ring of the top bearing, a cuff of a shaft of the steering mechanism, a cuff of a shaft of a bipod and the plug of a shaft of a bipod from a case of the steering mechanism only in case of their replacement.
 - a ball nut sector you make dismantling of the steering screw mechanism in the following order:
1. Remove protective covers and lock rings of rings of support of a shaft sector on both sides.
2. Remove caps in openings
7 mm of a case over shaft sector support also correct fillets of support or weaken lock screws as it is specified in the subsection "Gearing Adjustment".
3. Easy blows of a copper or aluminum drift to a shaft sector end face at first from the top support, and then from the shpilevy end take out rings of support and a shaft sector.
4. Turn off bolts of fastening of the lower cover of a case and remove it together with adjusting laying, an external ring of the lower bearing of the screw and a separator with balls.
5. Take out from a case the screw assembled with a nut lath, internal rings of bearings and a separator with balls of the top bearing.
External ring of the top bearing of the screw, screw shaft cuff, sealing rings in the case and a cover, sealing and protective rings in support of a shaft sector take out only in case of need their replacements.
Press off internal rings of bearings and remove a nut lath with screws also only in case of need of replacement of bearings and details of shariko-screw pair of steering mechanism.
Do not sort needlessly rollers in rings of support of a shaft sector.

Assessment of technical condition of details.
After dismantling carefully wash out and examine each detail.
At emergence on surfaces of a worm, the screw, a nut lath or a shaft sector of the steering mechanism of peelings of the tempered layer in the form of sinks, and also at their considerable wear replace details.
Replace bearings of a worm (screw) new if for elimination of an axial side play it is necessary to remove all adjusting laying or if working surfaces of rings and rollers (balls) are damaged.
If on working surfaces of a roller of a shaft of a bipod there are sinks, cracks, dents or the side play in ball-bearings or in landing to axes was formed, then ream an axis head, beat out an axis, take a roller. Insert the new video and an axis into a shaft groove. Fastening by electric welding on a shaft of a bipod of an old axis – is allowed from the reamed head, and a new axis – on both sides. At the same time do not allow a roller overheat.
Replace rings of support of a shaft sector if on surfaces under rollers there are sinks, dents and considerable wear.
Replace a bipod shaft if its vents are twisted.
Replace the bronze plug of a case at considerable unilateral wear. After a press fitting in a case of the new plug iron it a brooch to diameter of 35 +0,027 mm.
 
 You make assembly of the steering worm roller mechanism upside-down taking into account the following:
1. In case of replacement of a worm at his napressovka on a shaft it is necessary that high vents of a worm coincided with a shponochny groove of a shaft. Discrepancy of an end face of a shaft with a bore end face on a worm should not exceed 0,25 mm.
2. The roller of a shaft of a bipod has to be turned freely by hand. Grease a cylindrical part of a shaft of a bipod and a roller at installation in a case with liquid lubricant. Cylindrical and conic bearings, external surfaces of a worm and epiploons grease with Litol-24 lubricant.
3. You make an inhaling of bearings of a worm and adjustment of gearing of a roller with a worm as it is specified in the section "Adjustment of the Steering Worm Roller Mechanism".
4. The shaft neck beating under the ball bearing of a steering column on assembled steering should not be more than 3 mm. When checking the shaft assembled with a worm has to be turned easily in bearings of a worm (for cars of family UAZ-3741).
5. At installation of the steering mechanism on cars of family UAZ-3741 tighten at first bolts of fastening of a case to a frame longeron, and then fix a column. At the same time previously pick up the necessary number of the adjusting laying established between the rubber plug and an arm of fastening of a column for a shaft bend exception.
 - a ball nut sector you make assembly of the steering screw mechanism as it should be, the return to dismantling, taking into account the following:
1. Collect the screw and the nut lath which is interfaced to it with balls of 7,144-40 GOST 8722-81 only of one group and of one party.
2. The bolts fixing an overlay of a trench have to be tightened by the moment of 8-10 N · m (0,8–1,0 kgfs · м). One of slip petals coinciding with a side of each bolt after an inhaling has to be unbent on a bolt side.
3. Rotation of the screw in a nut lath has to be smooth without jammings and breakthroughs. The moment necessary for a screw provorachivaniye has to be 0,3–0,5 N · m (0,03–0,05 kgfs · м). Check the moment after a double provorachivaniye of a nut lath on all length of the screw.
4. You make adjustment of a pretightness of bearings of the screw adjusting laying before installation of a shaft sector, at the same time the number of laying 0,05 mm thick has to be not less than three.
Axial and radial movements of the screw are not allowed. It control absence by effort of 49-78 N · m (5–8 kgfs · м).
5. At installation of a shaft sector average tooth of the sector has to enter an average hollow of a nut lath.
6. Establish shaft sector support in the way smooth, without press fitting distortions in case openings, at the same time rollers of support have to be one group, and for an exception of their loss between them one plastic insert has to be established. At installation of support of a shaft sector grooves at external end faces of rings of support have to be opposite to openings of a case Zh 7 (for caps), at the same time risk on a ring has to be the most remote from gear gearing.
7. After installation of lock rings check axial movement of a shaft sector which has to be within 0,02–0,1 mm at effort of 15-20 N (1,5–2,0 kgfs).
8. You make adjustment of gearing of a nut lath and shaft sector by simultaneous turn of rings of support of a shaft sector in case openings clockwise if to take a detached view the shlitsevy end of a shaft sector. At the same time the grooves at external end faces of rings intended for their turn have to settle down in one plane.
9. After the end of adjustment of gearing record the provision of each support of a shaft sector as it is specified in the subsection "Gearing Adjustment".
10. Before installation of protective plastic covers grease the surfaces of details closed by them with Litol-24 lubricant.

The steering mechanism with the hydraulic booster
You make removal of the steering mechanism in the following order:
1. Disconnect hoses from the steering mechanism, having turned off a bolt - unions and fix hoses so that to prevent a full effluence of oil from a hydraulic system or merge oil in pure ware.
2. Turn off a nut of a bolt of fastening of a fork of the cardan hinge, take a bolt, remove a fork from an output shaft of the mechanism.
3. Rasshplintuyte also turn off a nut of fastening of a finger of the hinge of thirst of a bipod for a bipod, take a finger from a bipod opening.
4. Turn off bolts of fastening of the steering mechanism and remove the steering mechanism.

Dismantling of the steering mechanism with the hydraulic booster
1. Merge oil from the mechanism, scrolling an entrance shaft from an emphasis against the stop.
2. By means of a stripper remove a bipod from a bipod shaft.
3. Uncover top and lower protective bipod shaft support.
4. Remove lock rings of support of a shaft of a bipod and lock washers.
5. Smooth pressing of a press to a vypressuyta a bipod shaft together with the top support, without taking a bipod shaft from the lower support completely.
6. Remove the top support with rollers from a bipod shaft, without scattering rollers.
7. Smooth pressing of a press the top end of a shaft of a bipod to a vypressuyta lower support of a shaft of a bipod.
8. Remove the lower support with rollers from a bipod shaft, take a bipod shaft.
9. Take sealing rings of support of a shaft of a bipod from case flutes.
10. Turn off bolts of fastening of the case of the distributor.
11. Carefully, without distortions remove the distributor case.
12. Take from a case the screw with the hydraulic valve and a lath piston.
13. Take from a case a bearing glass with the bearing and a nut.

Dismantling of the shariko-screw gear
1. Unbend petals of an overlay of a sharikovod from sides of bolts.
2. Turn off bolts of fastening of an overlay of a sharikovod.
3. Take шариковод from a lath piston.
4. Turn a lath piston openings under шариковод down and, turning the screw by hand, pour out balls.
5. Take the screw from a lath piston.

Dismantling of the hydraulic valve
1. Carefully to a vypressuyta pin of a sleeve and pin of the torsion.
2. By means of special adaptation remove a rotor with a sleeve and the torsion from the screw.
3. Carefully remove a sleeve from a rotor.
4. Take the torsion from a rotor. Take out the sealing rings and a cuff installed in the case of the distributor and in a lath piston only in case of their replacement.

Assessment of technical condition of details
After dismantling carefully wash out, dry compressed air and examine details.
At emergence on the working surface of the screw, a lath piston, a shaft of a bipod, support of a shaft of a bipod or bodies of swing of bearings of peelings of the tempered layer in the form of sinks, and also at their considerable wear replace details.
Replace a bipod shaft if its vents are twisted.
Replace rubber sealing rings at detection of damages or change of a form of cross section (rings have to be round), visible with the naked eye.
When replacing the screw or a lath piston of a detail have to be replaced only with details of one group. Number of group is marked at an end face of the screw and a lath piston.
Details of the hydraulic booster (rotor, sleeve and the torsion) are selected at manufacturer individually therefore and can be replaced only with a set. At the same time adjustment of the hydraulic center at the special stand is necessary.
Support of a shaft have to be replaced together with rollers.

 Assembly of the steering mechanism with the hydraulic booster is made as it should be, the return to dismantling, taking into account the following:
Assembly of the shariko-screw gear. The balls of 7,144 ±0,014 mm sorted on seven groups on diameter through 0,004 mm are applied to assembly of the shariko-screw gear. For assembly all balls have to be one group. To apply a tube batcher (a tube of 10х1 mm 275 mm long) to simplification of assembly.
1. Insert the screw into an opening of a lath piston and combine the first round of a screw flute with an opening in a lath piston under шариковод, closest to a screw flange.
2. Insert the tube batcher filled with balls into an opening of a sharikovod so that balls began to fill the screw channel.
3. For filling of the screw channel smoothly turn the screw counterclockwise before emergence of the first ball in the second opening under шариковод.
4. Fill with the remained balls a trench of a sharikovod. For prevention of dispersal of balls densely grease a trench with jellied Litol-24 lubricant.
5. Insert the trench filled with balls together with the second trench into an opening under шариковод in a lath piston.
6. Holding шариковод from loss, check the moment of a provorachivaniye of the screw which has to be 0,5–0,8 N · m (0,05–0,08 kgfs · м). Rotation have to be smooth, without breakthroughs and jammings. If the moment of rotation is more or less demanded, replace all set of balls with a set of smaller or bigger diameter respectively. Mixing of balls of different dimensional groups is not allowed.
7. Establish an overlay of a sharikovod, wrap bolts of its fastening and stop them, having unbent a slip petal on a side of each bolt.

Installation of ftoroplastovy sealing rings
Ftoroplastovy sealing rings are applied to consolidation of mobile connections: distributor sleeve case, lath-piston-case, screw-lath-piston. In support of a shaft of a bipod the protective ftoroplastovy ring together with rubber is applied. Repeated installation of ftoroplastovy rings is not allowed.
Internal rings are established with their preliminary deflection inside, an external ring – with preliminary stretching on a conic mandrel to the size sufficient for installation.
After installation of a ring it is necessary to calibrate (to besiege) special mandrels with endurance on a mandrel within 30 min. (tab. 5.2).

Assembly of the steering mechanism from subcollected knots
1. In a glass 3 (see fig. 5.6) establish a bearing 4 disk, a separator with rollers and a ring.
2. In a case establish a rubber sealing ring 2 and a nut 1 so that the ledge of a nut coincided with a pro-point at the bottom of a case.
3. Screw a glass in a nut on 2–3 turns.
4. Assembled with the screw, a rotor and a sleeve establish a lath piston in a case so that the ledge of the screw entered a bearing ring opening, and teeth of a lath piston were parallel to a bipod shaft axis.
5. Install the roller bearing 10 on the screw.
6. Install the case 34 distributors, fix it by bolts 37.
7. Adjust a tightness in screw bearings (see the subsection "Adjustment of the Steering Mechanism with the Hydraulic Booster").
8. Turning an entrance shaft and holding a lath piston from turn establish a lath piston so that the average hollow of a lath was opposite to the center of an opening under a bipod shaft. Establish rubber rings 21.
9. On a shaft of the 30th bipod establish a support 28 with rollers 29 and sealing rings 22 so that the tag on a support settled down opposite to average tooth of the sector of a shaft of a bipod.
10. Insert into a case a bipod shaft with a support so that average tooth of the sector entered an average hollow of a lath and press a support.
11. Carefully, without allowing dispersal of rollers, press the second support of a shaft of a bipod.
12. Adjust gearing of the sector of teeths of a shaft of a bipod and lath (see the item 3 of the subsection "Adjustment of the Steering Mechanism with the Hydraulic Booster").
